Coach Haynes has been busy this winter. While we were unable to get PNW up and running, the plan is to still get it running in the Spring of 2026. Look for tryouts for the Spring season coming some time towards the middle to end of February.

In the meantime, Coach Haynes has been coaching with the Nelson Youth Basketball program to stay involved with coaching and coaching his son Grayson who is a 4th grader.

Our first tournament was at Canby and while going against some good competition we were able to place 2nd in the tournament and lost in the championship game to a team we lost to earlier in the day 24-21. With that 2nd place finish, Coach Haynes' team earned a bit to the Oregon State Tournament in Bend in mid March 2026.

In his 2nd tournament, he faced some stiff competition as this tournament was a combined club and school feeder tournament. After dropping the first two games on Saturday against club teams, they handled their business on day two winning convincingly and placing 3rd in the tournament.

Grayson (coach Haynes' son) led the team in scoring and rebounds over the two tournaments and continues to show leadership, poise, and hustle, all aspects of what we want at PNW Hustle.

While Coach Haynes enjoy's coaching with Nelson, he is excited to get PNW Hustle up and running in the Spring and is looking foward to coaching some new athletes and being competitive in the Portland, Oregon hoop circuit.
